Marsden Court

Residential Extension

Traditional extension on a small footprint to give more living space for a growing family, including a utility entrance porch and pram space, rear dining room with skylight and storage, and a loft conversion. The extension successfully integrates traditional architectural features with modern living requirements, enhancing the family home while respecting the conservation area's character.

The extension features brick and tile hanging, consistent with the neighbouring properties and surrounding conservation area, and includes detailed cornices and mouldings to be in keeping with the traditional architecture of the local area.

The focus of the design is the open plan living dining area, which provides access to the courtyard garden via large bifold doors, establishing a strong indoor-outdoor connection and allowing natural light to permeate the space. A large roof lantern was strategically placed to maximize daylight, creating a bright, airy environment and adds visual interest.
