Winterbourne Holt, a Grade II listed manor house has been saved and brought back to life by the owner who had the vision and determination to reimagine the highly neglected and outdated building and the stamina to see such a big project through with a young family. Over the years the building had been extended to the side by the Victorians, adding a third more floor area over the original Georgian design. The roof space was then haphazardly inhabited through the addition of 2 new bedrooms accessed by a hidden staircase and series of dark winding corridors that resulted in a tired and uninviting place to live.

The existing 1960’s internal reformatting of the Kitchen and utility spaces has been erased and new open plan spaces constructed to enable natural light to diffuse through the floor plan and open up the exceptional rear terrace and gardens beyond.
Through the addition of a new steel grid platform in the roof space, the attic area is now home to 3 generous Bedrooms, a family Bathroom and Play area, bathed in natural light from the new roof light central to the reconstructed crowned roof.
Years of technological redundancy residue has been cleared from the beautifully proportioned facades whilst retaining some historic period features to bring the grand old building back to its best. Our client has played a hugely important role in reimagining the interior of the property with clever use of both traditional and daring décor which result in a level of excitement and intrigue as soon as you walk through the entrance lobby.
